Skillet was fucking awful. But alas... who expected anything else?

I was still hopeful, but yeah, after Rise it wasn't really gonna be good

Why would you name your band after a cooking utensil? It's as pointless as naming your band after a famous novel for no fucking reason.

I quite liked Restoring Force, but this really isn't up to much at all. Hilarious to see that Pikachu guy comparing this to something like Hybrid Theory. This is really poor from a band who can do so much better.

Made an account on here finally just to come here and say how bad this album is. The first song on the album is the only song I can bear to listen to. Austin, please stop singing and stick to screams. [1.5]

In fairness when it comes to band names, the project I've been working on lately is named after a line from the second Pokemon movie.

@Jiggly they did have a reason for the name. Austin said "The book Of Mice and Men says 'the well laid plans of mice and men often falter.' You make plans, and they get screwed up. [Jaxin Hall] and I both had plans for life, and they both got screwed up, so now we're making the most of what we can." - from Wikipedia

not defending the band though, this record and the previous one were both garbage

Snide our tastes aren't too far apart (I mean they might be but I like a lot of music that generally gets a ton of hate that you like too) but this really isn't that good. I hated TTS at first because I think they really threw away what made them (BMTH) a great metalcore act (Sempterinal). Then I accepted that it was really (maybe a slight overstatement, but at least pretty) good for what it is.

That being said ~ I dug Restoring Force. I have it at least at a 3, might even be a 3.5 because some tracks were quite fun, Austin's screams were tight and still sounded passionate, and Aaron's emotions were quite easy to track. Here, here I hear nothing but emotionless generic sounds masquerading in the guise of an album produced by a band that's capable of a bit more.

BMTH has them beat on the Radio Rock front.
The Plot In You absolutely crushes them on the "Nu Metal" front (and maybe even on the radio rock front with songs like My Old Ways, Better Vibes, Time Changes Everything).
And OMM's songwriting here is kind of weak. I really dig the overall vibe they're trying to achieve, but they missed the mark by quite a bit. I don't know what I'd rate the album but its sitting between a 2.3 and 2.7. I could rate it a 2.5 but it could get worse (or better, but probably worse) upon second listen.

Yep, this is the worst album of the year so far (new MMF will probably beat it though). This album just feels like there was no passion put into it. The choices made on this album were sloppy and at some points laughable. Just all around, a pointless album.

I gave the album a couple of spins and it grew on me. Yes the new direction is a big change from what we are used to but they seemed to have pulled it off. The vocals were sublime from my view, at a point it felt as though i was listening to 'A Perfect Circle'.

The Lie and Away are the only songs where I wasn't painstakingly bored throughout the entire thing.
