I love brand new as much as anybody but goddamn their last two trips to Michigan have pissed me off. They played a show two years ago in East Lansing which was pretty goddamn dope. Last year, when they came back to Michigan, their set list was VERY similar. They played Mene (which was new at the time), Brothers, and Vices, which weren't at the previous year's show, which was cool. But 90% of the list was the same.
But I get it, that's okay. Songs are still great to see live. But then this past show (a few weeks ago) their set list was AGAIN almost the same as the previous year's. This time they added I Am a Nightmare, and basically swapped 70x7 for Boy Who Blocked, and took out Vices, Jaws Theme, and Brother.
Okay, okay. STILL they put on a great show. Just wish this tour would've had some different songs. Then I check Setlist.fm and see that a few shows after ours, they start playing Noro and 1996! Jesus fuck! I wanted to hear those goddamn songs! Give me Noro! 96! Missing You! Maradona! Handcuffs! Daisy! Guernica! Something I haven't heard at the last three shows ffs!
I probably sound like a whiny bitch and that's fine but goddamn guys. Set list variety has been poo-poo, at least in Michigan, for the last 3 years.

swap in a jar with luca and its a pretty sweet set

Great setlist but I agree about Luca [2]. I love the song anyway, but IMO Luca is one of the best songs they do live. The intro guitar, the tension during the low part, and finishing balls out. One of the songs that even better live tbh.

oh shit dream setlists? well the past two times ive seen em Ive enjoyed the setlist a lot especially the last time but here goes nothing:
1. Vices
2. Gasoline
3. Sink
4. In a Jar
5. Jaws Theme Swimming
6. Me V Maradonna V Elvis
7. Sic Transit Gloria
8. Sowing Season
9. Limousine
10. Welcome to Bangkok
11. Luca
12. Jesus
13. Noro
14. Soco
15. Sealed to Me
16. You Won't Know
I've seen em close with You Won't Know and that was the single most intense song/performance I have ever seen live. They did a outro jam and i died a bit. this order is also pretty messed up but those would be my top 16 songs to see live

^i could jive to this one, too. Only thing I don't love is sealed to me. I was never impressed with the live versions I've heard. Lyrics are kind of try-hard and cringey which is atypical for Lacey. That said, the subpar lyrics don't have the weight to carry an acoustic-type song like they so for SoCo or Play Crack. Just my thoughts but maybe a recorded or full-band version would change my mind.

I just never have gotten a chance to see it live and I wanna so bad. last time i saw them he was tuning for it but he couldn't get the right tuning so he just played Soco instead. which was still great especially the (I'm just jealous cuz you're young and in love) part that he does since he's not 18 anymore. side note, saw the song live when I was 18 so....

Seen these guys a handful of times, but my first time ever was in the heat of TDAG hype circa late-2007. They opened with Limousine and I almost died.

^that was back when Jesse used to actually use an acoustic for the first half and switch over to the electric. now he just does the acoustic parts on the clean channel of his electric guitar.

here are the two setlists when ive seen em. they didn't change up too many songs but they changed up the order enough and 2nd time there was an encore which was sick

Geurnica was my first Brand New song. I binged on it a fuck ton before even touching anything else from their discography, so I am really gonna need them to play it live. Also The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot has special significance to me as well.

That dream setlist rocks, Sowing. Great transitions between songs and it's TDAG/Daisy-heavy, which is sweet
I'm not sure how mine would go, but I'd want the final two songs to be Limousine and You Won't Know. That'd be fucking brutal.

Crucify if you wish, but Limousine has never really been one of my favorite Brand New songs. I guess I see the appeal, but it's not really my thing.

Limousine is in a lot of people's favorites. It grows on me more and more, so it'll probably join my favorites of the album eventually.
