I think the 3 best in here are top 20 radiohead for me, while everything else is just eh.

"Sonically, this is one of their finest moments."

sonically it is their most unsuccessful album since pablo honey and you just agreed that the switch between burn the witch and daydreaming is bad and so right in the first 10 minutes its already off sonically

if you took this as a collection of singles, i could see you arguing that they are each individually well composed sonically

but as a whole it is awful in that sense

I mean I really love this but I really don't see where the 5s are coming from, at least not this early on.

Like I expect this to grow quite a bit but I don't see how this can sit next to OK Computer or Kid A. Maybe in time I could see this growing into a 5 on a personal level for someone, but this soon feels really premature.

But who am I to judge

Agreed about the tracklisting but I still really like the album. Pots, I did a playlist that ends Daydreaming, Decks Dark, True Love Waits and it works really nicely

But that's the only weird switch on the album and Burn the Witch remains the black sheep

"I don't see the problem with the last 4 songs at all. "

there is no problem with the last 4 songs. they are all good songs. the problem is that they should not be all together back to back at the end of the album.

"potsy that's a way higher rating than i expected from you tbh"

i mean i have all of their albums post ok comp and before this 4.5'd and up so i dont know why

"But that's the only weird switch on the album and Burn the Witch remains the black sheep"

its the only completely jarring switch but that makes the completely polar effect of using up all the heavy hitters up in the first half so that the last run becomes utterly homogenous and dynamically disengaging so yeah. not good.

"Agreed about the tracklisting but I still really like the album. Pots, I did a playlist that ends Daydreaming, Decks Dark, True Love Waits and it works really nicely"

daydreaming 100% should have been in the back half.

Honestly I wish Daydreaming ended this and Burn the Witch lead into Ful Stop or something

I see your point too and have no issue with that

But for what it's worth they just put the songs in alphabetical order and plan to reveal the true track list order on special physical orders or something. ..don't remember exactly how but it's something along those lines

yeah, it was fairly obvious that they either just gave zero fucks or the tracklist was wrong. there is no way that this is the tracklist they came up with if they were trying to give a single fuck.

but its almost a slap in the face that they would just shart this thing out like that and be like "meh we'll fix it later"

will undoubtedly jade me towards the actual tracklist in the end even if it works a lot better.

really, really, stupid move

TKOL is too all over the place as a whole. This is lovely for the most part.

Guys, I think Burn The Witch into Daydreaming is a masterstroke.

You can think me crazy if you want.

But I think the stark and jarring contrast really makes daydreaming and the whole dream-like album after it just that much more effective.

It's like Burn The Witch is a prologue, and then you're dropped head first into an entirely new world.
