Tool's defining album. Aenima combines the aggression and bitterness of Opiate and Undertow and shows signs of progression and maturation, which would be more straightforward on Lateralus. But at the same time the album has its own style. Filled w/ headbangers (Stinkfist, Hooker W/ A Penis, Aenema) and more delicate, but still heavy, pieces (H., Jimmy, Pushit), Aenima shows Tool at their best and most versatile. Like most Tool albums, this is music that demands your attention and will take multiple listens. However, Aneima is the most rewarding in their catalog.
