First record with Eric ... definitely gonna be more of a hardcore sound.

I quite enjoy all their releases. This is defiitely their most ambitious however. They have evolved with each album which is great but I hope they revert back to the sounds focused on in this for their next effort.

I'd jump for joy at a return to wake / lift style honestly. They'll never be this metal again, I know, but I can still hope for Rosetta heaviness.

I take it you don't necessarily NEED to listen to both discs simultaneously, maybe it's better but hopefully this is enjoyable regardless. It's on Spotify but not sure what 'version' this is.

Spotify just has disc 1 as the first five tracks and disc 2 as the last five

Apparently there was a self-released CD version called TGSV2.0 that was both discs combined, but it was only sold on tour in 2005 and is hard as shit to find

Makes sense. Have you ever just listened to disc one? It might be my only realistic option but ideally I was hoping to prevent doing this album a disservice, if I could help it.

I listened to disc 1 the first time I heard this, its still a great album on it's own

I usually just listen to disc 1 or 2 on their own, it's great combined but I'd rather set up both my players and just take it all in if I'm going to do that. It might actually make the combined version better if you jam the individual discs first, it's pretty cool finding out how all the parts sync up when you've heard them on their own first.

Disc 1 on its own is what I listen to primarily. Combined is an awesome experience but its not the kind of thing I want to listen to on the reg. Pretty demanding.

Would that downloaded be better than me combining two 320mp3s in Audacity and exporting non compressed?

If I'm to rate just Disc 1, I give this a 4. Disc 2 doesn't stand alone very well, imo. Haven't played them simultaneously.
