why did this drop from higher than The Albatross to 3.8 in half a day?

one could argue that the initial ratings pre-Fantano were disingenuous as well...

and it's hardly uncommon for ratings to peter off anyway. most of the early ratings are often from fans of the band/genre, then other people take notice - many of whom aren't as stoked as the band's fans and whatnot.

at any rate, 3.8 is still a pretty solid score, so

I was bored at first, not going to lie. I was very underwhelmed on the first listen. Like, I enjoyed the first two singles, but they open the album and after Night Channels, I just kind of drifted off. I still think there is a bit of a lull in the middle and I don't like how anticlimactic the ending is.

yeah Laundered is my least favorite track and really drags the album..probably the only flaw IMO. I disagree with you on the final track though...Three on a Match is probably one of my favorites. It's such a beautiful track and a great way to end the album after the storm of Glass Coughs + Eiffel

Maybe it dropped because some people think this is just good and not great? I have this as a 3, I enjoy it but I also don't think it has much replay value for me and comes across as repetitive at times.

Eh my comment was not directed specifically at anyone but the general distaste for this records dropping average, 3 is a good rating, a record does not need to be 4 or higher to be considered a quality record.

what are you talking about? first off I can only think of three emo albums that are remotely popular on sputnik from this year (Dealer, Harmlessness, and Peripheral Vision). secondly I really like this site...dont think it's "turned to shit"
