Good album, probably my favorite behind BSSM. Not a big fan of their pre-Frusciante stuff, though.

Uplist mofo party plan was great, but the first two releases were pretty crappy.
Great album. BSSM is a better, and maybe californication. I also really like OHM.

"Cons:
Hard to get into for a casual listener"

other than that, good review. red hot chili peppers are okay, not that much of a fan. but i know someone who is a massive fanboy.
and they spelled CHILLI wrong!

and does the funky stuff outweigh the poppy stuff on this album? cos i'm thinking of buying it.

Uhh...on the jupiter cd, there might be a more even mix of funk and pop, but the mars cd is mostly pop. So there's pobably more poppy stuff here then funk. None the less, it's my second favorite chili album, and i hate almost all mainstream music :o

i like their poppy stuff, i just love their funkier side more.

I really feel as though they have become a complete parody of themselves with this album. I mean, Crazy Town could have made this album from a bunch of B-sides....if they were better musicians.

Snap it's Ramona.
Yeah my initial joy at this album gave way over the ensuing months to dazed misunderstanding. It just declines in quality the longer you have it, or some shit.

Yo bro. It's just the material is all the same structure-wise and they never really experiment with different sounds anymore. don't get me wrong, I think Snow's riff is a masterpiece, but that song could've been on any of their later albums. A bit hypocritical since I am a die-hard Ramones fan.
