The drumming on Everblack is so bad though. At least he improved on this, but that might be the only thing that's better on this than on Everblack actually.

also, Everblack is the only album i cant remember any riffs from after i listen to it. this definitely has better riffs, although it seems most would disagree with me.

I feel as if Alan had a plan (to plat like Shannon?) for the drum parts on Everblack thar are/were to hard for him to actually pull of and as a result it just seems stale and forced.
To be fair though I can't help but compare him to Shannon.

yeah, I don't even care for Everblack but I wouldn't say the drums are bad by any stretch of the word. Shannon was a good drummer. He was better than the dude from Miasma, but none of the last few drummers are bad.

The drumming has always been so damn consistent for this band. Also I don't find Everblack's drumming bad tbh.

Most of the tracks on this album are really good, but for some reason there just seems to be something missing compared to Ritual and Nocturnal, like when I'm in the mood for this band, I go straight for either of those two rather than this. I'm not sure what it is, lots of the riffs on this slay.

Nocturnal is better, no doubt. the darkly melodic riffs on that album are so well written.
