I have all Riverside albums at a 4 except this and Rapid Eye Movement that are at a 3.5.
It's time to re-listen to everything by them to see if it will remain the same. I just finished with ADHD which is near from a 4.5 to me, so it has the potential to be my number one.

There are several killer songs to be found on their first two releases, but if I remember well, they both have their flaws as well, so let's see. I'm listening to Mekaal Hasan Band atm, as recd by you into your ADHD's thread. I dig it so far.

@jethro: yeah the first two albums overall are great, but there are some not so spectacular moments that hold the albums back

I need to listen to ADHD again then I suppose, it really didn't wow me and I'm a huge fan of this band but I haven't given it a shot for a while, magnum opus seems like stretch though.

Yeah, some bands do have a bad album, as Pink Floyd have Animals, Rush have Hemispheres and Dream Theater have Awake. ADHD is Riverside's contribution to the long list.

Awake is far from being Dream Theater's worst. octavarium, systematic chaos, self titled, a turn of events, when dream and day unite and falling infinity are all inferior IMO. Out of all the Riverside albums I've had a chance to listen to, ADHD rates pretty high SONGS is their worst so far.
