*I kind of view this as TWY's "experimental" album; they definitely break a lot of new ground, but it still sounds like a natural progression from their older material. I don't think its as good as Suburbia or TGG though.*

Yeah no

the copious use of tambourine on here is kind of annoying. especially since it's mixed poorly just about every time it's used

This album lacks the diversity and the hooks of the Greatest Generation and seems to be on cruise control the last half of the record. A lot of the lyrics/themes seems to be overtly repetitive between tracks, a handful of them on a first listen sound almost identical, the melodies aren't as fleshed out and neither is the music at times. Still a solid effort but it seems like this record could have used a few more months to be molded into something a little more unique.

Definitely rules but it's a few gems short of the greatest generation

Try Cigarettes and Saints along with Cardinals, if those don't do anything for you then don't bother.

I still enjoy parts of this album. I just can't get over some of the songs because reasons. Even TGG was weak in some areas for me personaly, or maybe Suburbia just hit so hard at home I can never let it go.

well obviously. Butler coming in on stained glass is also a highlight though.

I can't stand when Soupy gets into this melodramatic quiet tone that he uses on almost every song. I don't mind when his gruffier vocals come out, but god damn those melodramatic vocals KILL ME.

I like this album, don't get me wrong, but I don't see what's much different here than most other pop-punk albums

when people listen to pop punk, they don't look for originality 90% of the time
