That's such a reductive way to look at lyrics, sometimes eloquence can bring quality but when you have simple, blunt lines like that the vocal delivery is what matters and Buddy nails sincerity in delivery as much as anyone can

“Usually quite relatable lyrics, new stuff boring. Just sings about god, America and his wife over and over“

Most the reason I love the newest album is the lyrics and their delivery

HUGELY underrated album; it reminds me of Finch's Say Hello to Sunshine in that it went way over the heads of the fanbase. Tons of great stuff here.

Same thing with Renacer, too bad Buddy caved and went back to making pop punk

Agreed. For a few years there, SF were actually carving out their own direction.
"Take Refuge" goes hard, I still love that track.

Id kill for more Renacer-like music, but these guys typically knock it out of the park either way

This and Still Searching is PEAK Senses.

Since I feel like this is worth saying. Weird, Senses Fail started with the mall emo sound and maybe they could have rode that further. "Tie Her Down" well Martini Kiss To my knowledge they just went more full on metal and not as easy pandering. Cool
