Yeah come to think about it the only thing in the lyrics that indicates it is when she refers to Jen in Dead Fox, and Jen could be a roommate rather than a partner for all we know. I always envisioned Depreston as going house shopping with her girlfriend but looking at the lyrics the partner is referred only to as "you" so one couldn't really even tell.

the antihype this gets in australia is silly
i could say the same about the hype as well
and yeah the "inoffensiveness" critique is agreeable. it's not radio pop or anything but i dunno the instrumentals seem a little safe when matched up with the intentionally unconventional lyrics. the EPs found a better balance between the two.

as much as you're awful and i don't wanna be a part of this discussion, what does your being a man have to do with her sexuality / the appeal of her music? not really asking as much as just pointing that out, so if i had to guess it'd be a factor that differentiates you being homophobic as well as gross from you being just plain homophobic.
