The review is well written so there's no real reason
to neg, although there are several points where I
disagree with his opinions (I'm sorry but at no point
since their reunion have they matched or topped their
prior peaks). I saw some people slamming his logic
for the high score he gave it...I thought he did a
good job of presenting his viewpoints and backing
them up although at times it seems overly sensational
(calling them scholars of pop is a little more than
I could handle without laughing out loud) yet still,
even in those minor points of disagreement, I can't
deny that he makes a solid case and justifies both
his position and his score. I think at the end of
the day, even though I can see some points worth
nitpicking, the ones blowing it out of proportion are
just butt hurt that a 4.0 fall out boy review got
featured, thus representing the taste of the website
to the casual outside reader. Pop music can be
good, although I just happen to disagree that it is
on this particular record. I thought about
reviewing this because Irving dibbed it and is MIA,
but this review suffices tbh even if it isn't the
best representation of the site as a whole. But
that's not really the reviewer's job - all he has to
do is defend his opinion, not appease the masses.

Album Rating: 3.5
What the hell fall out boy is way better than a lot of the shit that's out there
This album isn't a wonderful example, but their body of work as a whole is actually good
|
| |
Maybe if you average it all out it would be about a 2.9, which would classify as "good"

I admittedly haven't listened to Folie Deux since it first came out. I remember nothing of that album and everything off all the other main LPs. I probably didn't give it a fair chance.
