"SHTS is far superior instrumentally than EYEWTKAS or WaT."

No way is this superior to Worship and Tribute Justin Beck goes nuts on that album

Yeah gotta disagree on that too. Wouldn't saw WaT is better but they are at least equal. This is just a different style.

Who ever said Finch's first album was their only good one, must been a fan of whatever music popular at the time.

Think of how much of a burnout you have to be to think WIITB is the best. Thus is classy patrician finch

So, Finch is officially broken up. Again.

But Nate posted they demos from the now abandoned second record:

And they sound in the vein of Say Hello to Sunshine.

I would have loved for that record to be officially released.

Well, listening to the new band with Pappas, Linares and Wonacott, it's pretty clear that Nate and R2K were the guys pushing harder for a more complex/weirder sound like SHTS, and the other guys wanted to go hard in a more commercial / WIITB-type format. Pretty lame, and the new band is probably one of the most generic throwbacks to 2002 I've heard in some time. I guess fans of the old Finch are going to be stoked :/

Okay, further development. Now the other side (Grizzly, Daniel, and Pappas) are claiming it's Nate's fault. He, they say, walked away. Check the Finch Facebook page.

The trio also posted two Finch demos they recorded, which differ from the ones Nate posted.

They say: "We’re really proud of the last two songs we recorded as a band. In Nate’s mind the stylistic change was enough to throw away his career. We just thought they were great Finch songs."
