Colour and The Shape is a fucking fantastic album, Ryus. Go listen. Don't start here.

Check their entire 90's discography and then Wasting Light

Don't skip One by One, because it's better than Wasting Light and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
And if anyone named tresm87 gives you advice on this band, ignore him.

Definitely don't skip There is Nothing Left to Lose, has some of their best jams
|

But listen to Colour first. Will probably always be their best. And it's a good way to determine if you'll enjoy any of their other stuff.

Pretty much how I feel Arcade except I would switch S/T and There is Nothing Left to Lose in your statement.

Great review, pos'd....glad someone else agrees on the lyrics sometimes being a bit of a cheap trick

The avg for this is quite harsh, not their best by far but better than Echoes for sure

Echoes highlights are better than this.

"One By One is really quite good"
half of the album is good.

Wasting Light was way better. This is like that album's boring little brother, trying to be like his sibling but not knowing how.

I mean all the riffs and melodies are just so meh, even for FF...who normally are able to conjure up at least a few new ideas per record.

The Colour and the Shape is far from mediocre.
|
| |
Album would be much better if Josh Homme added backing vocals to Outside and David Bowie did the vocals for Subteranean

the second half of the album certainly saved it for me. The first half was pretty dull.
