when mess isn't screaming nonsense and he's saying stuff that makes sense (albeit in a crazy off kilter way, such as the breakfast clothes thing), that's what think is mess at his best
also if the vocalist has nothing to offer besides a really monotone grating scream over thirty minutes and gibberish lyrics, then yeah, I consider that a point of criticism
