Meh, Hildskjalf is good in the sense that it's better than his other ambient works but it doesn't live up to his other good albums IMO. Plus, it always makes me feel like "I could be listening to Summoning instead."

Don't know about anyone else, but it boils down to me preferring his later works. Hvis Lyset Tar Oss and Det Som Engang Var rule, but I got into him from this and worked my way backward. And it seems like I enjoy the stuff everyone seems to hate haha.
Daudi Baldrs was solid. Hlidskjalf was great and my favourite records by him are the last two.
Umskiptar and Fallen are pretty terrible though.

Idk this is pretty disgraceful compared to his first 4 albums especially and also Belus and Fallen, even if there not the same genre. Never checked out his other ambient albums, but I agree that Umskiptar is shit too.

In terms of a consistent atmosphere, this is his best imo. It has a continuous theme. I know some of the vox on this are.... aquired, but vocals are pretty secondary to me with this type of music.
