Was hoping for this to be overrated and overhyped but it acutally does deserve all the hype, stellar record.

Why would you hope something is overrated?

I don't know, I don't like to raise my expectations high, dog. Usually I always end up tricked. For example, the new Letlive. Was so hyped about it and it doesn't even come close to Fake History.

Examples aside, fuck had to 5 this, so perfect.

I just cannot get into this like Darkness and NBND. It's missing that special umpf that those two EPs had.

Maybe it'll grow on you like it did on me, man. Still, afraid it wears off again, tho, my first impression of this was a 4.

This has more umpf than those two EPs combined.

All three releases have so much umpf (and when did "umpf" start becoming a term on this website btw), it's hard to pick just one. All three releases are in my 5's so.

if anything is missing "umph", it's their last two EPs and Bad Luck. the bass on those three releases is so overpowered by everything else, it just sounds like some amorphous aural blob. on this, however, it's fucking perfect. it's probably my favorite thing about this release!

I don't get where these ratings and opinions are coming from. What exactly makes this a classic record for the 85 people who gave it a 5 since it came out 8 days ago?

I think yall are projecting the rating you WANT this album to be. It ain't a five by any metric I'm aware of.

We love the songs on this album, and it's okay that you don't, there's plenty who do not

A classic to me is an album that's really dam good, age factors nothing into it

what difference does it make, its not like it takes 8 full days for any of this to sink in and digest. it's loud stupid blues music that anybody with two ears can get a good impression of after one listen

Maybe I should lighten up.

On the other side, I finally read Chan's review and it further cements my opinion that he's one of the finest commentators on this site.

At first I felt this album got drowned by its own weight. But then Everything Disappearing happened and vindicated it.

I much prefer this Hypetrain than the Koi No Yokan one.
