Al Azif isn't bad, but this is far superior on all fronts.

Good album. Can we make this the H.P. Lovecraft appreciation tread btw? Cause I just read "The Colour Out of Space" and that shit was choice

My favourite is The Case of Charles Dexter Ward (something about subterranean things), but Mountains of Madness is probably the most entertaining and ambitious HPL story.

I like how Awakening here describes things from the elder one's point of view.

I definitely need to read more of his stuff. I've only read most of Mountains of Madness so far ;_;

I'm reading an anthology at the moment, it starts with some of his lesser known stuff and builds up to the more famous stories. Some good ones I've read so far are Herbert West - Reanimator, The Music of Erich Zann, The Nameless City, The Lurking Fear and The Statement of Randolph Carter.

Might buy this on wax from Gilead. Would love to have that artwork on a large scale

Oh...

Still pretty nice but I'll probably hold onto my money for Saor on wax

this just beat Saor for my best of '14, haha. spinning it on vinyl as I type and it's glorious even dozens of listens later. that descending riff on Antarctica gets more sinister every time I hear it.

I read the The Silver Key not too long ago and I really enjoyed. I still need to tackle the other Randolph Carter stories, and I plan to start reading At the Mountains of Madness soon

I think Saor beats this but it's close. Imma bump this up to a 4.5 soon no doubt
