It is not that subjective. What if you read a novel for a literature class, and your synopsis of the book was a wildly subjective "off-base" missive. You would likely fail. I have rightly noticed people hear music rather than listen to music. Especially in the comments and reviews on this site. I listen to albums, not singles. I do not read my interpretation into the lyrics, rather I listen to what the artist is speaking to. This method might be strange to many Sputnik losers. But it lends to a better appreciation of artistic integrity which is all but dead in modern music.

Gyro you an idiot! I'm a troll? You are the loser with near 15,000 comments. No way your sorry ass knows that much about music. You must spend all of your stupid ass time trolling this site making comments just to increase your count. Hoping one day to become a Contributor, but your analysis sucks!

I'm not sure how you could read the last few lines of Death Room and see that as some triumphant victory, especially considering how that track just lilts away and dies off.

I did not say he lived happily ever after. No one does. If you have the bonus track, "The Cage", you might understand better. The dead Demon Hunter has a legacy and a lesson for those who will listen. Resolution is the best anyone can hope for in this world.

I'm not sure where this dude has got his so-called 'correct' version from, don't think the band have ever fully disclosed it. He probably pulled it right out of the deep crevice of his ass

Basically ^. Unless a band have mentioned it's about anything in particular or it's painfully obvious, like an album like Hospice, I think it's up for debate.

It's like trying to analyse Sigur Ros' untitled album really. I don't think you could ever tell me your interpretation is right

Yea I have my interpretation of ( ), but everyone elses might be entirely different. There's no "right" interpretation to some albums or songs too.

Or in general, if a song has a special meaning to you, despite what the writer had in mind, then that's perfectly cool. I don't like pigeonholing it to just one thing, especially when it will mean different things to different people

Well, there are some songs where the singer has out right said what it's about, but most of the time it's not like that.
