"Nice idea but it would be abused just like the pos/neg system."
Yeah I agree. Negs should be justified imo. If you don't justify a neg, you can't click the no button.

Great rev man as always. You see this almost always happens when someone states an opinion not in the majority and that really needs to change.

There are only two things that hurt this album, and they just so happen to be enough to derail a decent chunk of the experience: the refrains and the production
I respect your opinion Brendan, but I strongly disagree.
The refrains are among the (many) attributes that make this album what it is. The chorus of "Empty Words" (one random example) is easily classified among the most intense recorded music I've heard.
About the sound production:
Back in the '90s, sound producers had a solid clue about what it meant to have "heavy guitars in an extreme metal album" (some of them still do nowadays, but they are too few in numbers). If we take into account that Death are shredding in this album for the sake of a more atmospheric death/thrash metal sound, the balance between distortion and clarity is near-perfect here. Cannibal Corpse are shredding too, but their sound is "100% Morrisound", hence most of the time their playing is hardly perceivable. I'm not saying CC should do otherwise, but as I wrote earlier, in Symbolic Death opted for a more atmospheric sound, due to the phenomenal lead guitars, and the "kindly bent to free us" rhythm section which took some artistic loans from latin rock outfits (Gene Hoglan said it in a recent interview at Metaltalk). One example of really weak sound production is the recently released Hannes Grossmann solo album, which has some great instrumental extreme metal, dressed with a sound production suitable for melodic hard rock.

I suppose I get what you mean, but I still believe people should learn to suck it up; I mean if they get this mad over the view or some guy on the internet I don't even want to imagine what they do in real life. Not everybody thinks their holy grail is made of gold, and that's just something they're going to have to deal with. [2]
If only most of the sputnik populace understood this concept.

Out of their entire discog. this is probably the album I jam the least. Which isn't saying all that much hahaha.
I have to be in the mood to listen to this one though, whereas Human or SBG is good to go anytime.

@TPM731
You definitely have a point there but from my experience Sputnik's user base is one of the best I've
interacted with. Granted, you always have the "album X is better than album Y" which I've done
too but overall there are a lot of cool guys around and people rarely reach to extremes when it comes
to abuse.

@mansog: Yeah, I can't say I'm in love with the sputnik userbase at large, but they could be a whole lot worse. Just take a quick trip to Metal Archives and you'll see that Sput has got it relatively easy (aside from some people).
