Pink Cigarette is probably my fav Bungle track, when it comes on all activity just stops and I bask in its glory.

I really hate that there are people that say they are into Bungle and listen to this album once or twice and decide that they can't get into it or that this is their weakest effort. This album is essential Bungle, but you have to force yourself to listen to it at first. It will click eventually, I swear.

" but you have to force yourself to listen to it at first."
People keep saying this, but as my favorite album ever (California I mean not Disco)... it clicked with me upon first listen...
Also "The Air-Conidtioned Nightmare">

who does that? loved this one immediately, not so much the other two.

Ars, you're in the wrong thread. And Cyg, not everyone is you.

The only Bungle I didn't love immediately was California to be honest. I mean this one still grew on it but it clicked with me the first time i listened to it.

I loved the first four or so tracks my first listen. But it started to get muddled after that. But you give this time, and it explodes on you. This really is better than California in a lot of ways, but California is still the strongest overall, I think.
I just feel like a lot of people listen to this album, and even being Bungle fans, get that "the music is amazing but god it's so weeeeeiiiirrrd" attitude.

California and Disco Volante were both easy listens for me probably because the weird mania was a huge appeal to me.
My problem with the s/t was how dense it was, but once I got to know the songs, I loved them all.
From Disco I go all out by picking "Ma Meeshka Mow Skwoz" as my favorite. YEAH EASTERN EUROPEAN MUSIC AND JIBBERISH!

Since this is posted after my post, I hope this isn't directed at me. No matter how much people try and convince me I'll still see this as Bungle's worst.

It's directed at the people with similar opinions, in this case, you Calc.

I think Calc's original rating for this was 3.0, so in any even at least it is growing on him.

@deathschool: I've already has a discussion with Poly about this. It isn't because it's "too weird" that I see this as the worst Bungle, it's because this has many great concepts although a bunch fall flat on their face (especally 'The Bends', ugh).

It was a 3, it's a 3.5 because I saw the last 3 songs more of merit then they orginally were.

Alright, Calc. I guess we'll agree to disagree. It's just a frustrating viewpoint.

Only song on here, and actually the only Mr. Bungle song in general, that I don't care for is "Merry Go Bye Bye."
But I can see why someone wouldn't like "The Bends"

Merry Go Bye Bye is fucking amazing, Ars. Wtf

Love this album passionately, as I'm sure you could tell by the review. But The Bends, ugh [2].

The second half gets on my nerves. The first half is okay.
If it weren't "Merry Go Bye Bye", this would be a 5 in my book.

It is the epitome of Bungle, dude. And when it brings it back together at the end.
