Well, who's to say that something as recent as vaporwave couldn't turn into one of the more collectively agreed-upon genres? Just because it isn't unanimously acknowledged by us and/or music historians doesn't necessarily mean it isn't worth our attention

"Both plunderphonics and vaporwave are terms coined by music fans that have found some acceptance."

yeah and blues was coined by the West African slaves in the south. u should stick with metaphysics, plato.

I did up my prospective rating because Adam touched me in a deep place with this review

Saying vaporwave is a real genre is like saying the holocaust didn't happen.

"Well if that's the case Thales you have no case beyond "new term I disagree with" because both of those genres are as similar to their parent genres as this would be to plunderphonics, if not moreso"

A is like B.

B has property P.

Therefore, A has property P.

(Where the analogy between A and B is weak.)

Alright. Provide me with a concise definition of vaporwave. Then explain to me how it is different from the work that Negativland does.

If you rephrase that so it doesn't presuppose the existence of vaporwave I might answer you.

Thales calling out weak analogies in the same post he says "Saying vaporwave is a real genre is like saying the holocaust didn't happen."
