This review is complete rubbish. The boy bands of yesteryear have all been whiny R&B garbage with zero ability to be interesting for more than a couple of albums. The change in sound to a more glam/bubble gum sound is exactly what they needed to grow and keep their audience while even gaining a few more.
Sure some of the songs sound like Def Leppard and what the hell is wrong with that? I actually listen to music all sorts of music and I don't automatically write artists I don't like off or just dis-like albums because the artist is lame. Sure I can't stand the new Katy Perry album but if you listen to it who wouldn't hate it. This is a fun listen and does exactly as it is supposed to move large numbers of units in the pop market. Nobody ever said pop music had to be credible.
