Surprised that people still think Fortress was a well-written album. This one is leaps and bounds ahead of it in terms of songwriting, though I'm not sure how i feel about the other ingredients yet.

Review is good. Could flush out the negs a tad more, but all your criticisms are valid. I agree that Plato’s, Clarity, and Drumhead are definitely the top tracks… kind of surprised Mist didn’t get a mention though.

i like you eli but honestly if this wasnt a staff review it would probably get shit on
the whole second paragraph is a laundry list of half-thought-out criticisms with barely any examples, not to mention
several contradictory statements (lots of dynamic shifts, but 1 volume level? rody's screams and confidence are positives,
but all he does here is "wail with reckless abandon"?)
it sounds like you didnt WANT to like this record and went into this looking for reasons to write a negative review
