This might change as I grow accustomed to it (I can tell it's gonna be a grower), but after 2-3 listens I gotta give it a 3.5. Truthfully it's closer to a 3.8 - but I can't quite bring myself to rate it as highly as I did Blackbird, so I gotta round down.

I think it's heavy just for heavys sake. On their other albums, the heaviness was effortless, here it sounds forced. It distracts from Myles vocals, which shouldn't always necesarily be in the limelight, but have always been a driving force for the band. Not to mention, his vocal melodies really aren't that catchy throughout. It's also very disjointed, the heavy parts don't match up with the more melodious parts.

Awesome debut, 2nd album is almost universally regarded as their best, kinda shitty unfocused 3rd album, then an unbelievably good 4th album that nearly rivals their 2nd album as the best
