I just will never understand people that 1. Take ratings so seriously 2. Use the argument that if you don't listen to the genre much you can't rate within that genre (I'm not a fan of indie for the most part but Modest Mouse became one of my faves from curiosity of the genre) 3. Can say their ratings is word but say anyone that doesn't like the album they do the other persons opinion is invalid.



It's all so stupid I just will never understand people with logic like that. I understand it sucks when someone hates and album you love but the whole point of sites like this is to see differences in opinion for discussion and such in which these people completely are clueless on.

And his comment on rap lol. As if there aren't good hip hop albums out there and it's all garbage. People should be able to identify when something is good, regardless of genre and at the very least, appreciate the skill when they don't enjoy something that is generally well received.

EXACTLY I don't care how much you hate a genre. Appreciate what it has done for other music and understand that you'll find an album or two to like if you weren't so close minded. I'm not the biggest rap fan per say but I love plenty of albums from the genre.

Couldn't agree more. It's not a genre I would say I am a fan of as a whole, but then there are records that are just unbelievably fucking amazing and they deserve as much respect as any guitar based band that I love. There are gems to be found in every genre that people claim to hate. Ignorant bastards. Metal elitists just might be the worst music lovers ever.

People like him are exactly why metal fans get a bad rep. I actually really like hip hop BUT I don't actively seek it out like I do metal is what I actually meant to say. His SOAD criticism is hilarious though. I get people don't like that band but my god, that reasoning is just too funny. I can't take it serious if he's trolling or not anyway.
