This is better.
Rescue and Restore is good but the whole album felt too familiar.
ABR really just got better at playing their instruments and writing songs. It seems like it never occurs to them to try to progress out of pretty much the same sound they've had on every album.

So Sword In Mouth, Fire Eyes sounds like if Thrice wrote a Norma Jean song (good thing).
Probably my surprise album of the year. It made me go back in the discography and check out their earlier albums (haven't listened to them since Redeemer).

Sword in Mouth is the best song on here. That 50 second interlude is pretty cool too but I wish they made it into a longer song.

My biggest problem with norma jean is they remind me that botch is gone and that gives me a ='(.

That beatdown at the end of Potter Has No Hands is so good, that guitar bend tops it off perfectly.
|

i was literally just about to bring that riff up because of how filthy it sounds
one of my favorites tbh
