This is such a good album, but it really can be too depressing at times when you're not in the mood for it. That said, it might be my favourite Flaming Lips album. For all the oppressive noise and bleakness and other factors that should make this inaccessible, it's surprising just how listenable the thing is. It sounds to me like the musical equivalent of Metroid Prime 2. I mean that as high praise, of course.
