I've been playing very little else this past week besides this. Went skiing today and had the song "Earth Rocker" in my head the whole time. This could very well become a 5, not yet though yeah it definitely needs to endure a little bit longer for that kind of rating. It might be the first 5 I give out in ages...

Oh man transnational is how I found them. But it's not up to the level of their other stuff. But as a jr high kid binge and purge was fucking killer.
I bet it is a great album for the slopes. Endless energy.
I've been playing it in the mornings before work.

I got into this band really late (last two years). I remember playing "Blast Tyrant" through once and the first two songs made me go "wtf is this shit, sputnik is on crack". Then by the 3rd listen everything made sense.

I'm convinced that Neil has one of the most badass voices in rock.

Yeah. Also, Jean-Paul Gaster is such an underrated drummer. His performance on this album seriously kicks ass! I often find myself air-drumming to this.

Agreed about Jean-Paul, I'm excited about the direction of this album.
Well done Greg!

Dam this kicks ass.
Just discovered it. What the hell, where's my hypetrain. It's been a long time since i heard a rock
song that packs as much punch as Earth rocker.

Alright so, I finally gave this a listen, and in my opinion, while I think that it's great that Clutch are getting back to basics with just straight-up rockers, I think this one could use just a tab bit more diversity. I think "Gone Cold" really shows that they can do slower songs well, and while I think the southern/blues rock thing they got going on here is great, I really can't help but still miss the soulful elements they toyed around with on Robot Hive/Exodus. I think that gave that album a good balance, and I missed it on Strange Cousins from the West as much as I do on here. Still though, great album.

Earth rocker would be so much better without that stupid bwahahahahahaha in every chorus. The verses are pure awesomeness. But the chorus get's dragged down by that stupid laughing.

I think this chorus is really cool actually. I'm an Earth Rocker tattatada tattatada...

Yeah it's good until it reaches the laughing part. He should just shut up at that point and let the instruments do the talking.
