no prob! classical is a world itself its huuuge once you get away from pop/rock/metal/ etc, too many sweet symphonies to hear

Sibelius's Finlandia is the shiiiiiit. It was the melody to my high school's fight song or whatever, so I always get a little teary and nostalgic hearing it

Will check out Profokiev. I've heard about him a lot but didn't know what to check out

Yeah I meant like I hear his name but I'm not sure what his best works were so I didn't really check him out. I do now tho since someone suggested his 3rd Piano Concerto.

And I don't just limit myself to concertos, though I do find the focus on a single instrument more engaging than symphonies.

Something about 20th century Russian classical just does it for me. Prokofiev, Shostakovich and Rachmaninoff are all fantastic. With that said, this is one of the best of the period, along with Shostakovich's Op.110a.

I presume by the relevant composer you mean Tchaikovsky? If so, can't argue with that.

man i respect that you dig the russians but german (austrian) classical music IS western classical music post-renaissance
france and italy obviously played a huge role (and so did individuals from other countries) but by and large western classical music history is german music history
there's so much more to it than russia could possibly be compared to
