Can't see this having an overall score of 4.4

I cant either frankly, considering how mediocre they've been since 2006. That and I did not enjoy the single off this one bit.

I have and At the Gates aren't as good as everyone seems to think, IMO. Everything before Slaughter of the Soul kind of lacked direction, and then Slaughter of the Soul was stripped down to the point of boredom.

Oh, and this album is awesome. I'll be replacing this review shortly ;)

This is our decision, to live fast and die young.
We've got the vision, now let's have some fun.

The song that was featured in the blog

Oh. Well, then maybe you wouldn't like this. It's a diverse album, though, so there's still a chance.

slaughter of the soul sucks hard, its boring and watered down as fuck

early atg (everything before terminal) is some of the most interesting dark psychedelic music you can
listen to though, it just takes awhile to sink in (also make sure you have a good pair of headphones
to pick up on the subtleties between the two guitar tracks)

you should listen again william, albums like WFIKTBD are far more rewarding listens than generic stuff
like this

Anybody who denies the awesomeness of Under The Serpent Sun, Suicide Nation and Blinded By Fear will die and come back reincarnated as a steaming pile of dog shit.

slaughter of the soul (song) is amazing, soilwork ripped the main riff off at some point

There's a reason why the lone ATG shirt I own is for With Fear. But still, I have a soft spot for SOTS. It's a influential record to me that I will always dig. Plus Flames of the End is one of the coolest outros period.

yeah but you cant deny that TRITSIO and GOG rape the living cunt out of SOTS

Hard to say because Under The Serpent Sun is my favorite ATG songs. Anything i'd say would be biased.

but dude all life ends, neverwhere, at the gates (song), kingdom gone, within, city of screaming statues, souls of the evil departed

cmon man those songs all clearly display superior songwriting and creativity

I know I would think differently if SOTS wasn't my introduction to them. I imprinted on it. Still, all ATG rules in my opinion. Only thing that would please me more than anew Bolt Thrower is a new At The Gates
