I'm not close-minded, but when the only people you're arguing with are pre-teen boys and girls who only listen to Fall Out Boy and Panic! At The Disco it's a little hard to take them seriously. Still, we should all respect their opinions and not be immature and call them names etc.
understood. That last sentence just kind of opposite snowballed in this thread.
FYI I'm not a fanboy or anything, my favorite band is Thrice.
ToWhatEnd can vouch for me... in fact, he's standing right behind me.This Message Edited On 05.13.06

lik oMg Panic!..... blah....
hearing Panic!'s name alone makes me react in a way Hawthorne's screamer sounds at times....
But in all seriousness I actually don't think HH is AS bad as people make them out to be. They can produce some decent songs its just they have not figured away to stray away from their "formula" and are not using their 3 guitarists to even half the potential they possess, thus making plenty of songs not very memorable and even boring. Also the screamer plenty of times...little problem.
MY SOLUTION (at least for the guitars): Have them listen to TREOS multiple times before the new album

I would rather them basically play the same thing than hear them attmept to do a bunch of three guitar harmonies and project a bunch of nonsense wank.
They already have that in their lyrics.

yeah im starting to agree with everyone about hawthorne heights. there boring. and nothing special. i never listen to this album anymore, it just doesnt differ at all. i LOVE decembers though. thats the one respectable song on there. besides that the album is kinda boring. i dont hate then though. there just not my favorite anymore.

Well, it is kinda unfair to judge against any band (Atreyu, BFMV, GC), but this is just over produced and hardly listenable. The screaming on here is unoriginal (as opposed to Atreyu's "wah" scream). The three guitarist, its like you can hardly notice it, doesnt impress me (again, as opposed to BFMV's carefully constructed guitar work). IDK
Balls!

This band is limited to one guitar riff and one drum beat. Every so often you might hear one note that is different from the rest but if you do it'll probably be on accident.

All the cool people hate HH.
I heard Saying Sorry on the radio yesterday for the second time I think and I thought the same thing about it sounding exactly like Ohio during that soft part. This Message Edited On 06.08.06

An accurate album title would be Hawthorne Heights- If only you were lonely enough to listen to this, guess their are ppl. Lol ok that was lame.

I hate emo so much. Screaming 20 times in each song is so lame.

Emo hates itself.

Worst argument ever. You deserve to have every one of your limbs cut off and fed to you by a clown with a dildo attached to his head.

By an extension of that logic, the fact that you don't have several hit albums out also means that you can't speak positively of them. After all, it's not like you're in a place to effectively evaluate since you're not at their level of financial and comercial success.
Okay, I can't take it anymore. How do you people operate under that mindset? It's really taxing on the brain!

i posted because i thought this was inactive, but
i would like to see you even try to write any lyrics that even rhyme much less organize a band, write music for three guitars and a bass, make it sound even remotely decent, much less even slightly catchty.

Writing lyrics that rhyme is simple.
much less organize a band, write music for three guitars and a bass, make it sound even remotely decent, much less even slightly catchty.
You think that's legit? Since when is critisizing a band illegal? Where was I when this policy was enacted? Many people on these boards actually do have bands, you know.
|
| |
I can do all that on my Garageband with TECHNO music.
Besides, writing lyrics that rhyme is easy, I do it all the time for my band. Plus, the
three guitarists are not that good. You'd think having three would makes some
awesome, sweeping, powerful music, but they just plain can't play their instruments
well enough to do that. This Message Edited On 08.15.06
