"Trying to rap" i think.
This is very good. Do not come at me bros, i do not intend to get hit by a shit storm for my tastes.

Me and my friends always joke around about what the Djent genre will cross over into, and we'd site that, one day, there'd
be rap-djent. I guess it's here, so I'll have to check this for the lulz

Well, its not that bad of an idea, when the djent is well executed and the lyrics and vocals are catchy and well done. Seriously, this is pretty good. Open your minds, the instrumental is pretty good you gotta give me that at least, haha.

^J Hurley's stuff pre-Hacktivist. He has no metal roots whatsoever.

I think it was pretty well executed. Its a solid 3.5 for me. Wont go over that though, no way.

a 3 is even pushing it for me, but for 'rap djent' this isnt half bad

I'm not that fond of rap or djent, so I got exactly what I was expecting out of this when I gave it a listen: music that I did not really enjoy.

I'm open minded, I think you can mix all sorts of genres if you do them well. This is just stale "djent" by the numbers with rap tossed on top of it. I'm not going to give it more credit just because there is rapping over top of it.

Me too, that's why I gave it a shot. Plus, the review was pretty convincing and I was bored.
Solid review, btw.

I can see where that comes from mate. Still, this is not stale djent for me. Stale Djent would be Monuments for example, imo. (ONCOMING SHIT STORM - SHIELDS ACTIVATED)

Sounds like a 2.5 so far.
I actually think the concept is pretty interesting, but this band doesn't do it well at all.
If the guitars did a bit more than "djent" rhythms, had more variations, had less rapping, only one rapper, had vocal melodies that didn't sound messy and conflicting with the rest of the music, and wasn't so damn repetitive, it could of been a decent record.

Ha ha, that's a laundry list of stuff for them to work on.

The only song I've heard rapping mixed in well with "djent" was in the intro for Infinitely Inwards by Ever Forthright.

How this album has an average of 2.6 I do not understand.

And where was reviewer coming up with the Rage Against the Machine comparison? They don't even resemble them no matter how loosely one interprets the word
