As a standalone song, Hole in the Earth is better, but this works as a better opener.

Paper Mario rulezz, almost beats metroid but metroid is too badass and it's the best game ever so samus kills mario, the end.

Wrote three paragraphs of a review for this and I'm not too fond of what I came up with. It's basically like, "Deftones continues to rule...and...um...not as much as they did on White Pony and Diamond Eyes though."
Deviant was supposed to review it he's uncharacteristically late.

"This album falls just shy of White Pony and Diamond Eyes, but it doesn’t need to capture lightning in a bottle for a third time to be a standout release."
Koi No Yokan. It’s a Japanese statement used to express the knowledge one has that he or she is going to fall in love with another person. It doesn’t mean love at first sight; it simply implies that such feelings are inevitable in the future. For many avid Deftones fans, this term will ring true regarding their opinion of this record. It doesn’t necessarily incite love at first listen like its immediate predecessor, Diamond Eyes. Instead, it sparks an interest with fluid, captivating progressions and underlying brutality. Eventually, Koi No Yokan ensnares us all, leaving us in a trance brought on by the record’s raw passion and energy. The more you listen, the more it seems that love is indeed imminent.
Crafting such an album doesn’t occur by accident, and that’s why Koi No Yokan had to be made by Deftones. After more than a decade of refining its art, the band finds itself making subtle improvements and variations upon successful formulas from the past. There’s a little Diamond Eyes, a substantial amount of Saturday Night Wrist, and an even larger helping of White Pony, all being expanded upon in a fashion that is neither redundant nor alienating to loyal followers. It is easily the most melodic album the band has ever written, and it accomplishes such a feat without sacrificing any punch. There are no scream-alongs like ‘CMND/CTRL’ or ‘Elite’, but Deftones have always been at the top of their game when they balance melody with heavy aggression – and Koi No Yokan spends the majority of its time doing exactly that.
