What is your favourite track from this album? For me it's Burning Bridges, or possibly Painted Skies/In Dark Places.

Yeah, Burning Bridges probably. His performance after the solo part is brainmelting, the best he's ever sounded imo. Lady of Winter is also a favorite of mine. Just a perfect way to start off an album like this.

I love their debut too. It's more straightforward and heavy than this but the progy side of their shophomore work wins me everytime.
Anyway the band is simply amazing.

Man I really don't feel the debut is up to par with this one. The band had the chops but none of the songwriting. Maybe it's just me but I find Midnight incredibly annoying on Mayday. Valhalla is a really great track tho

I agree that it's not up to par with this but you can see a glimpse of their future grandiose. All the elements are there but in Transcendence the band transformed to a power prog metal giant.

Definitely agree about Mayday! He's one of my favourite vocalists but yh. It's almost like if Vektor's early vocals were heavy metal instead.
