Yep, an album that gets boring in a week doesn't deserve a 4...

Album's a surprise but f'ing wicked, probably moving up to a 4.5 but hasn't had enough time to settle. Nice job on the review, was a good read

No matter what i do, i cannot like this band.
The sound, the tunes...i just can't get into it.
I try. I always try to give artists a go, especially considering how many instant dislikes can turn into life-long favorites.

I tried so hard to like this... but, it just has nothing to offer for me.

It was hard enough to get me to listen to Baroness before and I can't believe how much I like the EPs and Red and Blue. But, I think out of both albums, there are 3 or 4 songs I like and the rest have me craving stuff like the Birthing.

Mr. Potato, this music was a chore. Like cleaning up dog diarrhea out of carpet.

i always used to compare baroness to mastodon, and so continuing in that tradition, i think this album is faaaar superior to "the hunter". it sounds way more deliberate and intentional if that makes any sense. both bands made a transition to into a more melodic and alternative realm, but i think baroness did it without compromising integrity and complexity. i think it is a straight tie between harmonicraft, i don't really get those comparisons though

'Yellow and green' is amongst the most varied releases of 2012 in my opinion. Barely any song sounds like each other, and even if the mellower, indie rock influences do shine through unnecessarily, it still makes for an interesting listen. I find the 'Green' side to be a bit better in terms of songwriting, but 'yellow' makes up for its boredom by having a lot of tension in its music.

This doesn't really compare to harmonicraft or the hunter simply because they completely disregarded the fact that they're a sludge metal band

I need to write a copy+paste on the hunter for every time someone asks what's wrong with it

1.5 is a bit low I'd say. Even if you don't like this.
