Periphery should drop the vocals, they would be better as an instrumental band.

not quite sure what's up with the average. I mean, even if half the site hates this band, it's pretty non-debatable that this is better than the debut.

The vocals destroy these songs for me. There is just too many damn cleans, most of which are painful to my ear, and

way too loud in the mix. At least in the s/t the cleans are used somewhat sparingly and aren't RIGHT in your face.

P1 is better in every way imo.

except its not [3] prefer everything I've heard from debut to everything I've heard from this, apart from Ragnarok

I'm surprised this thread doesn't have 1000 pages by now considering how overrated this band is.

That's because KILL's review thankfully is managing the bulk of the lolfag contributions.

Nah, the vocals and the songwriting are infinitely better here than they are on the debut. This still is far from perfect, but it's a major improvement.

While I have to agree with this, I definitely don't think a lot of cleans would be a bad thing on a Periphery album.....that is, if they had a vocalist who was actually worth a shit. Spencer is simply the bane of this album and Periphery's existence in general. It also doesn't help that Misha is so oblivious to this. I have definitely come to accept that Misha has the WORST taste in vocalists that I have ever come by. How can I say this? His suggestion of Elliot Coleman for Tesseract...nuff' said.

i don't mind spencer's voice that much, but even with a different vocalist i couldn't see this being over a 3.5 for me

great album. I will say that maybe they are still learning how to write "albums." As opposed to a bunch of songs and then just pull those together for an album. Sometimes the songs seem to not flow so well together. But I honestly enjoy every song. But hey what the hell do I know. Ratings for this should be higher.
