except that not especially on this album

Agreed. In fact, this is better because they cut the fat.

I think this is my favorite Gojira album. I like that the songs aren't 8-10 minutes long and the riffs don't repeat for an extended period of time.

A lot of these songs sound super similar. More so than on any other album. I still like a lot of them, but its definitely samey. I don't know what fret/string it is, but they have one harmonic that they play in 3 or 4 different songs. Its picked the same amount of times too (8 i think). I might be talking out of my ass though, I play guitar but I have no idea of any of the proper terminology or theory.

They do use that vertical pick scrape (again, i don't know what i'm saying) a lot, but they've always used that. Plus its awesome. If you don't know what I'm talking about you can find it in the beginning of Explosia.

I am a drummer actually, but I know a thing or two about guitars, and I think I know what are you talking about. they do the same thing on Flying Whales at 6:25, and it sounds so fucking cool. it really sounds like whales haha

In Wolf Down the Earth, the end of the very first riff culminates in one of these pick scrape/whale noises before starting over again. There are also other instances on this album, but I'm not familiar with it enough yet.

Everyone knows you don't get inside Gojira songs. They get inside of you (anally).

I liked the second half tracks the most, especially "Mouth of Kala", "The Fall" and "Born In Winter".

I agree. The second half is better. Usually that's the case with Gojira albums.
