grind is a bit weird for me, there's lots of really cool stuff out there, but I don't have many staples which occupy a space beyond an initial, usually fleeting attraction
this is one of the few exceptions, probably due to how damn unique it seems
has anyone checked their other material? - just realised there's a near 90 min comp which appears to be everything they've ever put to tape (seems demo heavy, but they did release a couple of other EPs). 17 mins of this band just isn't enough to sustain me

Never checked their other releases, no. Will rectify that over the weekend.
Curious what your favorite (death) grind albums are.

deathgrind specifically?
erm, probably this, "Knoll - Metempiric" and (for a more technical bent) "!T.O.O.H.! - Pod vládou biče" are my clearest faves
add the Full of Hell & Merzbow collab and Kuroi Jukai s/t for noise / core orientated grind

Assück and Terrorizer robbed again. Knoll and TOOH are excellent tho.

I have no recollection of Assuck at all, hmm. Is it the 'straighter' old-school kind of death-grind? Honestly, it's not really in my wheelhouse. If you were to combine Terrorizer, Brutal Truth, Insect Warfare, Napalm Death etc. my current collective stance is "this is okay" but not overly compelling, even if some bands are more appealing than others

Yeah, I'd lump them in with the others you namedropped. They admittedly don't have any gimmicks going for them, but compensate that fact nicely by sounding pretty angry and dm-y. Different strokes.

Yeah misery index is pretty easily my fav deathgrind but I admittedly haven't heard a ton of it

the early demos rip, they had some serious chops even back then (I say "back then", their reign was short-lived - but circa 1990 as opposed to 1996). It highlights how innovative they were for sure
