I could see why they remind you of Secret & Whisper but not me personally. But when I listen to Secret & Whisper it reminds me of Circa Survive.

This reminds me of Woe Is Me, Sleeping With Sirens, Johnny Craig, and Panic At The Disco oddly but I don't really listen to those bands.

I don't get the relentless hate though; the album is catchy, and good for what it is. These guys are not aiming to be the next Radionhead/Opeth/ *insert "legendary" band*.
