After five or so listens, my biggest concern with this band is that they have a few great ideas but can't string them together to save their lives. It actually hurts the album immensely. Just as they present a great idea, they go off into the their Meshuggah worship and do it in a derative way without any hypnotic finese to it. Also, it would be nice if they didn't repeat the same flanger effect quiet moments over and over, really makes the album sound even more the same throughout each track. It's bands like this that really make me hate where metal is going these days.

From what I can tell they purposefully made the tracks blend together because the album is a concept album and the lyrics tell the story of a village that's been devastated and is now abandoned. So the songs blend together so it seems like one story.

Oh, I forgot to post that lyrics were horrible on this as well. Go see for yourself. Seriously, I don't usually listen for lyrics but from what I could make out, it sounded like deathcore lyrics to me.

Saying things like "this album is shit if you know anything about metal" automatically compromises your objectivity. There's no point in taking any of your criticism seriously after you say something like that.

I don't understand the motivation behind consistently bashing a band and the people who like it. What are you actually hoping to accomplish? Raise awareness? Change people's minds? Collect money for the FUCK VILDHJARTA foundation? In reality all you're actually accomplishing is making yourself look condescending and spiteful.

To be honest, just tired of seeing bands like this praised when really, they're derivative of everything that came before them. I know you're one of the better users on this site so criticism is taken.

We all can be. I mean fuck my last post was pretty condescending haha. But I know you're a cool dude. I've been here a lot longer than my post count suggests. I've read a lot of your posts over the years and I know you are a valuable member of this site and one that I personally respect a lot.

So to answer your question I guess my point was ranting and blanket judgments actually do the opposite of getting your point across. Sure, you're making your opinion known, but you're doing it in a way that makes people less receptive to what you have to say in the future. On the other hand, saying things constructively actually makes people a lot more open to your opinions, even if they disagree.

I did get your point Kubrick ; ) and I deserve it sometimes, especially when no one is trying to pick a fight. I admit, I do lose site of a constructive point versus a ranty opinion sometimes. Been a rough day and I guess it shows hahahaha. Apologizing on Sputnik is now the "in" thing to do!
