Never ever gets old. I hate using the term ‘perfect’, but SH2 is to me.

Best horror game ever made imo

Mine too; Forbidden Siren 2 comes real close though, that's also one hell of a horror game

I love the siren series too, but there's a lot of flaws with the first two games to make them anywhere near as good as silent hill

It just keeps coming back as the perfect remedy to my head, and I love every second of it.

I remember the first time I ever played Silent Hill. I think I was in 6th grade, and we were out of school for like 2 weeks because we had a terrible snowstorm. So I spent that time with blankets blacking out my room window and letting SH scare the ungodly shit out of me.

The first two Silent Hill games are so damn good, I really wish Kojima could've finished Silent Hills

Same. I wanted more of that cryptic as fuck nonsense.
In honesty I enjoyed the pt demo, but it's blown way out of proportion. All these people acting like the game would have been a guaranteed masterpiece. How do you know? Based on that demo? It wasn't THAT good to make such hyperbolic claims (not that you specifically have). RE 7 looked very similar and was a fantastic game

Oh yea for sure, the demo was nice but I wasn't blown away by it. The atmosphere was great tho, and it was pretty scary at points. RE 7 owns, that's one of the best AAA horror games to come out in a long fucking time

Yeah, RE7, Alien Isolation, and Outlast are prob the best horror games I've played in ages. Struggling to think of any others atm. Little Nightmares was pretty cool too. It's such a shame that horror as a genre is so undeveloped. Look at movies like The Babadook, and It Follows. The It remake was good too, and so was The Witch, but I struggle to think of more noteworthy horror movies in the last decade (I've yet to see Hereditary).
And then the aforementioned games. Some of the best experiences ever, but so damn few and far between. It's si disappointing; the genre has SO much potential.

Agreed on all of that except for the It remake, because I haven't seen it yet lol. But horror got so saturated after the success of Amnesia and shit like that, so the good games come few and far between

I don't know if you guys like horror games with little gameplay like Soma, Observer or Kholat, but they all have amazing atmospheres and interesting stories. I think there's a lot of horror movies and games to be found, even today, you just gotta look past AAA games with huge budgets or english-language-only horror movies.

SOMA had some cool moments, but it wasn't THAT amazing. don't know anything about the other 2.
