They're playing in Philly with DGD two days for my birthday. Stoked.

I don't see why it's relevant how they changed their sound. This is a pretty progressive band anyway, and I really don't care how they change as long as they keep cranking out incredible music.

How anyone could say this does not absolutely destroy every DGD album is beyond me.

The only similarity between this and DGD is Kurt Travis's voice (no fucking shit) and one short part in Vanity's Fair.

Go back a page and you'll see Concubinary asking if this is as good as DGD's S/T and Foxxxy saying no.

I'd say the two bands are pretty similar but the quality difference is miles apart.

This could be an A Lot Like Birds demo.

Were you around when they started releasing tracks off of this album? Loads of people were pissed off, calling them the new DGD and whatnot. Thankfully, that was false but there are definite moments. To my ears anyway.

You're probably correct. Yeah I did hear about that, I've been following this band since Plan B.

I personally don't hear it...but it's subjective.

I was pretty upset at first too since Plan B is without a doubt one of the greatest post hardcore albums I've ever heard and they ditched that style.

As long as we both think they are amazing then who cares, right?

It threw me off at first but then again, this album is so amazing that I stopped caring.

Correct.

For sure. The two are separate entities that shouldn't be compared as they stand on their own.

Can't stand people who refuse to give this a chance just cuz it's different.

On a brighter note, I hear that they're coming out with another album in early 2013

"they got better???"

No they got worse D: The first album rules.

"I don't see why it's relevant how they changed their sound. "

They threw away most of the musical variety on this album, and focused on vocals way too much. I

still

don't really like the vocals from the new singer. My favorite track is the one with the least

vocals. I want

songs like ted bungys thanks giving dinner and sesame street is no place for romance.... that use

vocals in

a good way

i think the first album was more of an experiment and i'm not sure they could have pulled off more than one album like that. i think this style works really well for them and i'm sure they have some pretty cool ideas for the future.
