The 2nd LP of a planned 2011 trilogy, 'Thursday' arrives 5 months after the excellent 'House of Balloons' launched the career of The Weeknd (Toronto R&B singer Abel Tesfaye). While not as immediate, hooky or good as its predecessor, this is still a cohesive, alluring & assured release, which has been fastidiously produced. Very character-driven, you can rarely fault the mature vocals of Tesfaye, who portrays susceptibility in an engrossingly haunting fashion. One may still wonder about the ambitious release schedule, but few can deny The Weeknd is an exciting talent. Recommended Tracks: The Birds Part 1, The Zone, Life of the Party & Lonely Star.

I listened to this about three times when it first dropped and have no desire to listen again, whereas I spin House of Balloons on a pretty regular basis.

idk it's not really my style at all, I don't really like r&b very much, but it's pretty cool. Check out House of Balloons (it's better) then get this if you dig that.
