"BTW it takes one to know one, doesn't it?"
That's like the most cliched and untrue phrase ever.

Except for the 'life is a box of chocolates etc' one

I am pleased to read this album most likely will not suck as bad as their last horridly boring release. Have been a big fan of these guys, but my patience has worn thin. Hopefully hanging in there will be rewarded. But I'm still waiting for it to arrive in the snail mail, just like ABR's Leveler. Hello, my calendar says the 21st has just about come and gone and I've got NOTHING. I need.

Album is alright, however, if you have listened to The Jester Race, Whoreacle, Colony, Clayman, and
Come clarity, this album becomes repetitive and unnecessary.

Also, I am completely indifferent to the vocals. Yeah there are better metal vocals, but there are
also much worse. I'm not feeling all the hate on this particular issue.

The vox don't bother me THAT much. I can definitely understand the hate though.

I'm really liking this album way more than I expected. I was a bit let down by the last one, though it wasn't without a few fantastic songs.

I'm rather impressed by Anders' vocals here, so I must disagree with the reviewer. Honestly, I think this is Anders' best clean effort yet. I can't help but wonder if he took some lessons, because this is the first time I've heard him sound CONFIDENT with his newer style.

And I must say, I'm really digging some of the experimental things on this album. I find it quite fresh to hear In Flames breaking out of their mold to try things that are not normally associated with their name.

Actually, if you read the review a little closer you'd see that we definitely agree. I said that I'm not a fan of his 'harsh' vocals, --- His gritty vocal delivery often drifts into a nasally rasp that is neither powerful nor enjoyable. --- but that I like the clean singing -- On this album, however, it’s the choruses that generally feature some of Anders’ best work.

I have a feeling that this album, in the long run, will redeem the group's status... it's definitely a grower in my opinion.

As for the title, it makes sense to me. It's a change... a big change. The experimental elements of this album, especially the last track, which I figure was placed there for a reason, is to show folks that a chapter has closed. It's a liberation. Look at their "jester" mascot even... like a skeleton...

Should the band continue, I see them breaking out of the metal mold, and not being afraid to incorporate other aspects to their sound.

I don't care what they do, as long as it's pleasing to my ears.
