it's not that an aversion to grunge music, this album just seems really monotonous, slow, samey. i do like alice in chains (jar of flies is super good) but i find sitting through entire albums of theirs daunting.

Great write-up on a record that I always wanted to share thoughts on. But I always struggled due to how powerful of an album this is. For awhile, this is all I wanted to hear. Still to this day, I'm spinning this a few times per month. For me, it's the guitar work!
I saw them last fall when they had Troy from A Perfect Circle on guitar and these songs just exploded off the stage. One of the best records from a decade that to me, created many, many memorable albums.
