Formulaic and predictable. Any band that ever played in a distinct genre relies on formula, and even the greatest music is often predictable. I've never been surprised by a Beatles song or a Johnny Cash song. As soon as I hear the first thirty seconds I know what's coming. Even shit like Radiohead's latest turd is predictable from start to finish. Doesn't mean a damn thing.

If so, unlike you, I hide it very well
no you don't. actually dispute something i've said or go be a dipshit somewhere else
considerphlebas - I just think the songs are melodically uninteresting for the most part. obviously a complete matter of opinion and I didn't really intend to insinuate that people who enjoy this have juvenile taste or anything like that.

Fair enough. I tuned out of this type of music for a long while, so can see why people might find it boring.

It's nearly as good

Not to be a downer, but listening to this only 4 times, and writing a review/giving it a 4.5 is just a bad way to go about things imo.

It's customary to write a review fairly soon after a release. If it was a film you'd do it after one viewing.

Make way for the internet tough guy!

4 times is more than enough to write about an album in depth. Sure, it could never be as in-depth as say a review after 20 listens, and that in turn wouldn't be as informative as a review coming in after 100 listens, but nobody is gonna want to listen to an album that only gets good after a couple of dozen listens. Hell, even one or two is enough to write a decent 'first impressions' summary

I've written a review off of one listen before. Four is plenty. If your opinion changes you can edit your review later.

If you can't formulate an opinion after four listens you probably need an urgent IQ test

I'm going to go ahead and make an ignorant, sweeping generalization and say, the same people who like the Foo Fighters are the same people who like Will Smith movies.

Bridge Burning, Rope, White Limo and Back and Forth are monstrously awesome

Also, I have a completely irrational infatuation with Wild Wild West. I know it's a pretty poor movie but I still love it.

I meant Rope, not Dear Rosemary. My retarded eyes just can't read song titles off of itunes is all.
