idk, it's just that my pie chart in particular varies wildly in short time-spans, sometimes without even having rated something lol

idk, i don't feel i listen to enough prog rock to have it in my pie chart, The Gathering might be to blame tho

The original recordings had been lost until recently, and Fiori is preparing a 40th anniversary remaster of the album

Really? All I know is that my used copy has the CD1 reversed with CD2. Probably a fake copy, but the booklet and cover art look like the original.

Any exact sources on this? As far as I know, the masters to the album were damaged in a flood, which is why all CD versions were based from a vinyl rip.

From the major cultural newspaper in Quebec (the article is in French):

https://voir.ca/nouvelles/actualite-musicale/2016/06/27/fiori-prepare-une-version-remasterisee-de-lheptade-special-40e-anniversaire/

A translation of a brief passage concerning the disappearance of the tapes:

"For more than 20 years many theories have emerged regarding this disappearance, including that of a flood in a Sony Music building in 1982. It is only recently that they have been found."

Also, what I think is the official website of the project: http://www.lheptadexl.com/

Sweet, I looked on Fiori's facebook page in hopes that maybe there'd be info, but there's next to nothing. Still plugging that album from three years ago.

So apparently this remixed and remastered version will be called 'L'Heptade XL' and I also see a 'November 2016' in that video.

from the samples comparing the original 1976 release to this remaster, it is really evident that this album needed a sonic face lift

The remaster sounds pretty juicy. Not to discredit the original, but the remaster does sound more full side by side to the original... Not sure if there would be a difference when actually listening to the whole thing all the way through

plus the vocals are far more upfront which is a definite plus for me

The original seems still more balanced for me. For the remaster, the vocals muffle too much the drums and the guitars imo.
