The only reason I bought their stuff a year ago and again now is that their live performance is really good. If they could capture the excitement of the concert into their studio recordings, their albums would be worth listening to. Alas, they have done no such thing as of yet...

Anyone else prefer "Carving Desert Canyons" to this record? I started off at 4.5, and, through subsequent listenings, have settled on a 3.5 for now. This album is undoubtedly great, but "Carving Desert Canyons" was truly superb. I had never heard anything like it when I first listened to it about a year ago, and I was really anticipating "The Collective." If I said I was not a tad disappointed, I would be lying. So, anyone with me?

Didn't like these guys that much, despite me being such a big Cloudkicker and an Animals As Leaders fan, but this album sounds great so far. I didn't even know this was out til today too.

That tour should be here some time soon. I need to look it up and go. Only problem is my friends don't listen to their respective kinds of music, so I always have to go alone.
